Google Cloud Next 25 Showcase Experiences - App Design + Development
Worldbuilding and experience design at the bleeding edge of AI, with Google Cloud

With over 36k in-person attendees in 2025, Cloud Next is AI’s see-and-be-seen event. From AI innovation, to data cloud, to modern infrastructure, to agents—everything happening at both the core and the outer edges of artificial intelligence is on full-display.
Each year, Google Cloud works closely with an agency partner to concept, create and refine large-scale, high-impact showcases that bring their most next-gen technology to life in exciting, human ways. This year, that partner was Use All Five. So, together with Google’s Demos & Experiments team, we spent the past 8 months dreaming up Next’s most experimental and exciting spaces.
4 were marquee AI showcases, which were situated prominently at the center of the conference’s 3 main spaces (Imagine, Learn and Build), and 3 were immersive customer stories, undertaken with Volkswagen, Etsy and the International Rescue Committee.
From hoops training with the pros, to building a coded app with your voice, to a Hollywood-quality movie trailer born from doodles: here's what we built. We’re beyond excited to share this work with the world.
AI Basketball Coach
AI Basketball Coach lived inside of a full-sized NBA key, where Pixel phones captured attendees’ shooting form, then passed the video through Gemini, MediaPipe and AutoML on Vertex AI to analyze against pro-provided form and training tips, which were spoken aloud in real-time by Gemini Live, culminating in a video-studded takeaway for each shooter.

Dial an App
Dial an App was accessed via three phone booths, where callers picked up the line to have an impromptu app brainstorm with Customer Engagement Suite and Dialogflow. On the companion screen, AppEngine tracked progress as callers conceived a brand new app, which arrived coded and designed in just a few minutes thanks to Gemini and Gemini Code Assist.

Veo Studios
Veo Studios was dreamed up as the edit bay of the future, powered by multimodal reasoning in a collaboration between Gemini, Imagen 3 and Veo 2. From the center of a Richard Serra inspired sculptural coil, edit bays gave creators the opportunity to doodle directly on the screen, then manipulate prompts and generative imagery to create their own movie trailer.

Quick Build Game Show
Quick Build Game Show was a rapidfire building block game show moderated and judged by Gemini. 4 players at a time gathered to see what Gemini wanted them to build, then raced against the clock to assemble the best possible version, all while Gemini created contextual commentary on each player’s skills, eventually crowning a winner and explaining why.
