Morphopedia is the companion web archive to Morphosis, designed and developed by UA5 for Morphosis Architects.
Founded in 1972, Morphosis has a 30-plus-year history of stunning projects ranging from architecture to industrial design. UA5 saw this historical data as an opportunity to demonstrate the breadth and scope of Morphosis.
From this data grew a fully cataloged interwoven archive of projects, employees, news items, awards, images, rendering and blue prints all open and freely available to the public. UA5 and Morphosis both saw this an opportunity to include the public in their process and contribute to the Open Source community online.
Morphopedia is not only a tool for exploration, but a tool for education as well. One highlight of the site is the ability for Morphosis to create a Lightbox, or private viewing room, of a selection of projects and/or articles on Morphopedia to send to potential cleints. Additionally, any visitor on the site can create their own Lightbox for personal use or to share with their friends and colleagues.
